IP Fabrics CALEA System Selected by Scott County Telephone CooperativeDeepSweep™ for CALEA system provides "safe harbor" to meet FCC deadline Beaverton, OR – May 9, 2007 - IP Fabrics, Inc. announced today that Scott County Telephone Cooperative of Gate City, VA has selected the DeepSweep for CALEA system to provide CALEA compliance to meet the FCC deadline of May14, 2007. IP Fabrics, Inc. was chosen out of a field of multiple competitors due to the system’s cost effectiveness and compliance with the FCC’s T1.IAS specification, which offers safe harbor. “We are pleased to know that Scott County Telephone Cooperative will meet the FCC’s compliance deadline with IP Fabrics’ DeepSweep for CALEA solution,” stated Scott County Telephone Cooperative general manager Bill Franklin. “The system’s compliance with the T1.IAS spec ensures we will have “safe harbor” with the FCC.” The Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) was originally enacted in 1994, but was recently extended to include Broadband Internet Access Services and VoIP Services in order to assist law enforcement agencies to execute authorized surveillance of digital communications. Services providers can comply with CALEA in various ways, including purchasing complaint solutions from vendors and are offered safe harbor if the solution adheres to industry standards, such as T1.IAS. The IP Fabrics DeepSweep™ for CALEA is the first self-contained network surveillance system that provides with Broadband and VoIP CALEA compliance. Ideal for small and medium-sized ISP and VoIP networks, a single DeepSweep system functions as the complete CALEA compliance solution, providing the probe, mediation/delivery, and administration functions, which are commonly implemented as separate devices. “I was extremely impressed with the ease of installation and how simple the DeepSweep CALEA interface was to execute a warrant” said Eddie Depew, network manager for Scott County Telephone Cooperative.
